7.6.2016

We walked over to the doctor's office this morning just to see if they could help facilitate getting a scan for Jim as opposed to the time and expense involved with the emergency room.  However, the nurse suggested we make an appointment with a urologist - unfortunately, it won't be for 2 weeks.  We'll go to the emergency room if we have to before then, but right now Jim is feeling fine again.

The temperatures were really hot and with our late start we decided to only do one batch of mortar later in the afternoon.  So Jim spent time getting all the prep work done.  Marking the walls...

...cutting more bricks.

To try and keep the mortar from curing too quickly, we periodically misted the front areas that see the most direct sunlight.

In anticipation of our concrete work coming up, Jim took the Bobcat up to the top of the hill and picked up the concrete mixer (lovingly known as The Pumpkin).

Finally ready for a batch of mortar...

As Jim was cleaning the mortar mixer, he used the power washer to spray in the air and let the mist cool us off a bit too!

Getting started in the back...

Jim has moved around the auto bay corner and has now extended to the back of the main area - there are lots of steps along this back side.

Moving around to the side...

Adding another course to the front corner...

Using the remainder of the mortar on the side...

Doing the final jointing...

Clean up time!

Some end-of-the-day pictures - the front...

side...

and back...

It's not supposed to rain tonight but just in case, we covered everything up.

Jim stayed and did some more brick cutting before he headed home.  We're just thankful it was a good health day!
