Connecting the stud to the top of the track.
Now that the scaffolding is out and only the rolling tower remains, things look so clean! Plus Jim is able to use the scaffolding where he needs it.
Since this wall is comprised of a few different sections, Jim wanted to make sure everything was in line before he totally fastened the bottom track down. So he tied a string on one end and we measured to make sure - of course, it was perfect!
Then it was fastening time - after the first one, Jim let me do this job. Because the screw is going into wood, I could handle it!
Then it was time to attach the other end stud to the carriage house wall.
With those details done, Jim can start moving in a different direction - getting ready for sheathing! First step is to draw a level line...
...and then attach our ledger boards (freshly painted in the apartment!).
Cutting ledger boards to the right measurement...
For now, the front brace needs to stay so Jim just put ledger board up to that point.
