Spring is still slow to arrive and snow is actually in the forecast for tomorrow night!  Jim is getting very antsy about being able to get out and do some real work but he's using his time wisely as always.

His Lowe's rep called him the other morning and said that someone's order had fallen through and she had 25 sheets of 3/4 thick OSB tongue and grooved subflooring that she would sell him for only $5/sheet - as compared to $26 sheet!  Although Jim really didn't need it, he will be able to use it for sections of the roof as extra-thick sheathing at a fraction of the cost of regular OSB.  There won't be enough to do the whole roof, but will certainly be good for certain sections - like over the stairwell and car lift areas.

Today, Jim was doing some more door work.  He's using steel shims that Bryan made according to Jim's specs to get everything squared up.  However, he realized that the steel door itself may not be quite flat and may have gotten torqued and a bit out of shape in transport.  He'll have to figure that issue out.

In the picture above and below, you can see all the snow still piled up on Angel.  The picture below shows what our beautifully crumbed out hole for the septic tank looks like after a long winter.  Jim said when he got to the land, the hole was empty - it got filled up from melting snow as he worked.  Sigh...that will take some work to redo when the ground dries out.
