4.18.2015

Back to the trenches today...literally.  Jim spent the first part of the morning cleaning up the first infiltrator line from all the cave-ins that happened over winter.  He got all the infiltrators back in place and leveled - looks pretty!

Then it was back to plumbing and working on the last line.  Again - there are a lot of angles that you have to make work over a distance and the grade has to be precise.

Getting ready to glue up the connection at the line...

...and at the distribution box.

Making sure everything is in the right spot...

Time for the last infiltrators to be put into place...again, always takes hand shoveling to get things right.

Making sure everything is level...

The trench wasn't quite long enough to get the last infiltrator in, so Jim had to dig just a little bit more.

Even though Jim is always telling me...Sharon, it's a work site...you have to have a little bit of silliness along the way.  And come on, doesn't the infiltrator end cap just scream Darth Vader Mask?

The last line of infiltrators is all done!

The septic system from the distributor box on is all complete and ready for inspection!

Time to turn attention to the plumbing for the main tank.  Off came the big cap so Jim could see what fittings he needs.

The tank came with some specialized fittings - this piece is one of them.  It actually has a filter that goes inside this baffle (see next picture) that you can use or not.  Jim has it all glued up now.

This is the filter that goes inside; however, they told Jim that if you use it, you're going to have to clean it out frequently.  That is not a job that I am signing up for.

Snow watch....just about gone (well...except for that 3 foot high pile behind the carriage house)!
