4.6.2015 - Thawing Out

Wow...remember not so long ago when we had to do archeological digs to find our supply stash...the snow has melted off now and we can see what we buried!

While temperatures are hovering in the 40s and 50s, the lows dip below freezing and there is still some snow on the ground.  It's funny how the top of the hill where it's all open to the sunlight seemed to have the most snow on the ground and is still partially covered.

This is the pile of snow behind the carriage house that remains from all of the snow that Jim shoveled off the deck!  That might take til June to totally melt!

While Kyle was here, he and Jim were talking through placement of some of the outlets and switches.  Because of the ICFs, installation of electrical boxes is a whole different beast.  Jim is looking at a combination of recessed boxes (cutting into the foam and mounting the box and wires inside) and external boxes (especially for the high-powered welding area).

It was still too wet to do much, although it's becoming hopeful because some of the areas are getting noticeably dry.  Once our temps warm up a bit more, it won't take long!

Meanwhile, Jim and Kyle worked on Sunday doing some clean up on the side of the driveway.  Before everything starts growing, it's a good time to cut down some unwanted brush and small trees that are choking out the baby pine trees.  It's really looking nice!
