He first worked on the driveway - trips up the hill in all the mud left it with some big ruts. So Jim got the Bobcat out and did some repair work. He even tried to move the truck and park it up on the hill; however, the ground was too soft for such a heavy vehicle and it got stuck in the mud. Jim had to shovel gravel under the tires to give it some traction. Then do some repair work there too!
So it really wasn't until after lunch that he was able to get started working on the pour stops again.
He made some jigs to fasten to the end pieces to make sure that everything is in the right place - so when he flips this piece over up on top of the concrete wall, the jig will fit around the corner and be in the right position on the wall with the right overhang.
This is the last piece on the front wall - these pour stops really make the area look bigger since they extend past the wall to allow for the brick depth on the wall.
Again - Jim has to punch holes down in the shop, then use the hammer drill to drill through the concrete, then use the tap con anchors to hold everything in place.
Once both end pieces are set, he uses a string to keep everything level, checking it periodically with the tape measure and plumb bob.
This is the front view with the pour stops completed - looks good!
And this is the last piece on the back wall being fastened down.
