Morning came as well as our first load of gravel!  We'll be using this in the footers, driveway - this will be the first of many gravel trucks coming up the driveway!

Then Jim started bricking.  The mortar mixer is still in Ohio so he used the pumpkin to mix it up.



He actually said it worked really well and he may even continue to use that.  It was really hot today - high 80s and very humid, so all this work was tough in the heat.  Plus the heat makes the mortar tend to dry out quickly so Jim had to keep moving constantly.

Jim ended up getting two batches of mortar made and bricking done - it was a long day for him but it looks great!  I really like the dark mortar - classy looking!  It's so exciting - this is our first permanent structure on the land!
