Jim and I both had doctor appointments in opposite directions this morning, so Mom went with me and we both were out of the house early. All went well and we met back up at the house before lunch.
Jim worked on putting the polyfill on the other bench pieces today...
All four cushions are ready for fabric...
Jim brought up my old cutting mat - it hadn't been unrolled in a decade so he used clamps to hold it down to the table...
It's always scary cutting into fabric but we got the first piece cut. I serged all the cut edges so that we wouldn't have any fraying.
Jim did lots of markings on the board so that we knew center lines, placement lines, and even staple points...
He got to use his new upholstery stapler and stapled the first side...
Turning it over for a check - going to be beautiful!
Once we got all four sides stapled except close to the ends, we played around for quite awhile to see how we wanted to do the corners...
We came up with a plan and then Jim was able to perfect it and replicate it on all four corners...
Even the back looks great!
Now to put it in the seat upstairs...
I am beyond thrilled with the way it looks - and am so anxious to get the others done now!
There was a little squeak on the entrance door so Jim took care of that to end the day...
Thankfully, we had a couple periods of light rain today and that seemed to really help to clear the air even more, so I think we're in the clear in this area.
