6.3.2023

We're having trouble receiving what we need for Jim to be able to press on with the bench seats - still waiting on the foam and the fabric.  Today I called Amazon about the fabric because no shipping information is available and was told that it was shipping from the UK and was delayed!  So Jim canceled that order pronto and we found another site to order it.

Jim worked on the computer this morning as well and then switched out the glides on his desk drawer - a job that he wanted to do but was on the back burner...

Jim had taken the metal detector down to the bottom of the driveway before we start building up our stone wall.  He found a couple pings that he wanted to check with the pinpoint detector - he found a screw and aluminum can, so nothing great!

Then it was time to take off the cardboard tube from our post!

Peeling it off...

Ta da - looks amazing!  The two pours are seamless and that was such a good way to pour.  I really like the bigger size of this post as well.

Jim went back up to do more investigative work on the excavator.  He had told me yesterday that he thought it might be the tube inside the gas tank but he had to take off the connector.  He did that today and that was the problem!  There is a small plastic tube that connects to one side of this piece and goes into the gas tank to pull up the fuel.  Then the other side of this part connects to the hose that carries the fuel out.  Jim just has to get this plastic tube and we should be back in business!  Really exciting news because we want to use the excavator and it takes time and money to figure out what's wrong.

Jim had this giant rock stashed in the woods - he was able to use the forks on the Bobcat to pick it up and bring it out...

This big rock is going to be the end rock in our wall extension that will protect the package drop box from any future collisions - they'll have to hit the rocks first!

We may need to adjust its position later, but for now it's good and will protect the post too!

Jim took the Bobcat up to the shed and brought down scaffolding parts - it's going to be time to work on the pavilion soon!

We had a wonderful drop in temperatures and it was supposed to bring some rain, but we haven't had a drop.  It sure feels wonderful though - it's over 20° cooler today!
