6.13.2023

Mom and I had to head out early this morning for a trip to the podiatrist for her foot issues.  Thankfully, she got a good report!  We did some grocery pickups while we were out.

Jim did some more work this morning on his mockups for the timber frame joints for the pavilion - he used the band saw for some cuts; unfortunately, that won't be an option when he's working up in the air!

This mortise mockup is done - amazing!

We laid out the fabric for our last cushion today...

Once we cut it, Jim marked the plywood while I serged the edges of the fabric...

Then he started stapling...

Doing the corners...

Stapling the pull tab on the bottom...

Fastening the velcro strips...

Time for installation...

Wow - just looks and feels so wonderful in this space!  I can't stop gushing about it every time I walk in the room!

We wanted to do a little work at the end of the driveway before some forecasted rain.  Jim brought the Bobcat with forks down and first moved the rock out of the way...

Its temporary parking spot...

Then he brought the excavator down - started right up and ran great!

Before we put the rock in its final place, Jim wanted to do a little metal detecting...

Still no elusive coins, but we found an old lock and this random half of a tool case!

He used the excavator to carve out the space for the rocks a bit...

Then he set it in place...

He used the excavator to wiggle it into just the right spot...

We had another rock saved in the woods that we wanted to use, so we took the Bobcat back up the hill.  But - very sad - a couple panels on our old temporary shed rotted and then blew off in the wind.  This shed lasted longer than we ever expected - we'll probably do some repairs  to keep it going a little longer.

Using the forks to pick up the rock...

Then we brought it down to the end of the driveway...

These two big rocks from two different parts of the property really mated up perfectly!  They will provide great protection for our drop box!
