6.8.2020

Today was etching day take 3.  We went down and looked at the floor this morning and there were spots that still appeared to be damp.  We wouldn't be able to epoxy over dampness so we decided to do one more round of etching, this time using muriatic acid.  I headed out to Lowe's to pick up a gallon.

This had to go on a damp surface, so Jim wet down the floor first...

Time to mix up a batch of acid!

With all his appropriate safety gear on, Jim started spraying it on the floor...

Scrubbing it in...

Next was the neutralizing solution...

A couple of wash offs...

Then power spraying a couple times...

Finally, brushing all the excess water out...

It definitely looks more etched now - this is going to be what we go with!  Now we just have to wait until we have two good weather days after the floor is dried and we'll be able to move onto painting epoxy!
High 74/Low 51 - beautiful!
