Mixing up the epoxy...
Adding the catalyst...
And more mixing...
Jim started by doing the edging with the small roller and brush where needed. I took over this job once he started rolling...
Starting to roll the epoxy on...
Looking good!
Why do bugs always have to go on wet paint? This dragonfly found out the hard way that epoxy is sticky...
Continuing to roll the epoxy on...
Not too many pictures because it was all hands on deck - there was more edging around the garage door tracks and entrances. Once we were done with the garage floor, we moved onto the pole barn bay where the Bobcat parks. This went on super easy because the floor hadn't been blackened (super smooth) or sealed.
All done!
Once that job was done, it was cleanup time and time to break for lunch. After lunch, Jim was busy in the wood shop - glueing up more wood for shelves...
Getting more pieces ready - these are the face frame and door frame pieces as well as the stiles and rails for the next cabinet...
Jim started the millwork for the side panels for the stiles to fit into the rails...
As a break from all that, we have a turtle story to share! This is the time of the year that we see lots of turtles crossing the road. There are wetlands nearby as well as a small lake. I stopped for this little guy yesterday. Some people get out and move them; I'm scared so I just stop and let them pass so that the cars don't hit them.
Then last night as I was making dinner, Jim looked outside and noticed a loose pile of dirt and saw this big snapping turtle laying eggs!
We didn't want to disturb her so the pictures aren't great but it was fascinating to watch...
After she was done, she just slowing walked away. Jim got a great close up picture of her...
I saw a fox on the property this morning. Then, unfortunately, when we went to look at the nest after we were done with the floor, it was all dug up. There was one egg remaining so Jim covered it back up with dirt but not sure if it will survive.
It's like a National Geographic special around here!
