Both shelves done and drying...
Doing the millwork on the back of the face frame to fit onto the cabinet...
The millwork done, Jim sanded it and put a coat of primer on the back...
Then we headed out to the pole barn. Jim wanted to fill in the cracks with the special caulk like he used in the auto bay. I taped all the edges; pay special attention to this picture because this is where all the problems started! We were using up some older tape which is why there are different kinds here.
Next step was for Jim to put the backer rod into the cracks...
Then he started caulking...
Smoothing the caulk...
Pulling the tape up. This is the part that's usually the easy part - you can pull all the tape up in minutes. However, this tape we used which typically sticks to nothing stuck completely to the floor! While a little bit pulled off smoothly like in this picture, most ripped, stuck, got caught in the caulk - you name it, it happened! We ended up having to scrape little pieces off, being careful not to disturb the caulk. Even scraping the tape didn't make it come off smoothly so this took the entire rest of the day!
But all's well that end's well and it looks great. We didn't get a few areas done but we got the main area that was epoxied finished. We are planning a trip into Lowe's tomorrow evening and some masking tape is definitely on the shopping list!
