Third time appears to be the charm as far as the auto bay floor - it looks better after the third etching.  It's just drying out now - we're hoping to be able to paint at the end of the week as long as the weather forecast holds out.  Fingers crossed!

This was a bit of a catch up day for Jim to cross off some of his to-do list.  We've had a sleek smart switch for our fan - it has been a bit of an issue from the beginning because the fan itself is "smart" and comes with a remote and the two weren't really compatible.  However, we liked the look and functionality of the switch - however, the fan rotated the wrong way.  Since we only use it in the summer, we want that cool air coming down on us!  Jim investigated and the switch will not allow you to reverse the speed.  So he decided to put a normal switch in.  However, that required taking the fan apart (I missed the photo opportunity!), replace the smart connector inside with the original one, and then put the new switch in.  Whew.  But now it rotates the right way and we can control the light and speed with the remote.

Jim also switched out an almond receptacle with a white one in the kitchen...

Another missed photo op was that Jim wanted to switch the way the lights operated inside the stairwell.  It's a 4-way switch and also includes a switch for the lights outside the stairwell - Jim wanted them to be reversed so that the outside light was the first switch.  So he took that box all apart and rewired it.

He also spent a good chunk of time working other issues - we are hoping to go to the lumber mill tomorrow and he wanted to insure they were open.  While we were down that way, we hoped to pick up a screed for the power trowel we bought; however, they didn't have the one he wanted in stock so it's on order.  He also spent time talking to Mini service about the battery and is waiting to hear back from them.

We did a little bit of rock work today - picking up a load from the pile...

And taking it down to the original wall that we are fixing...

Did a little more grading where our rock pile was...

Jim ended the work day by cutting a little grass.
