11.8.2014

Even though it was kind of a short day because we went to church in the afternoon, Jim still got lots done again.

We did some more reorganizing our stockpiles to get things ready for the trusses - the initial plan to move some of the cold formed steel didn't work because Jim had opened the straps to use some of the pieces so then they couldn't be picked up and moved with the Bobcat.  So Plan B.  I moved some of the pieces we had used for shoring to a different area and now there's room.  Of course, Jim still has to build supports for the trusses.

Then it was back to winter prep mode.  I love how Jim uses all his old wood pieces that everyone else would just throw away.   But he cut some scrap up to make little furring strips to hold the house wrap down.  We are putting house wrap on any of the foam that will be exposed to sunlight to prevent it from breaking down from the UV rays.

Again, this is house wrap we used for our house in Ohio - Jim keeps everything and it comes in handy!  I especially like this wrap because it matches the Nudura green!

Unfortunately, the rolls are 9' and the walls 10', so we'll have to go back and patch, but the majority is covered now.  The furring strips have to hold it down during any wind events - Jim is able to screw into the flanges of the ICFs.

Alas, we ran out of the pretty green house wrap and have to now advertise for Lowe's.  I'm sure a check will be coming in the mail any day for all this free advertising!

So the inside section is figured out and put up - tomorrow we will move around to the side.
