It was a gorgeous but chilly and windy day - so the 40 degree temps felt much chillier. But once you get busy working, all's well! Especially when you can see such progress.
Jim worked this morning extending the grading further and further down the back wall so he can drive the Bobcat back.
We put up more dimple board...
...and started the process of gravel, geo fabric and dirt over and over.
I told Jim that when you're working at this point, it's hard to remember how far this we were working when we started! All of the footer drains are covered up and we're really making dents in the piles of dirt that were behind the structure from when we first started digging the hole a year ago!
As we move on down the back side, Jim is able to fill in the ditch the right way and continue building up a path for the Bobcat to travel on so that we can work even further.
Lots of hand shoveling always is involved - poor Jim can't get too comfy or warm sitting in the Bobcat!
Another load of gravel. Notice how Jim tries to only fill up half of the Bobcat bucket so that when he dumps it, the gravel goes only where he wants it and isn't wasted too far away from the wall.
Wow - looking great!
Looks really good from up on top of the hill too - lots accomplished today.
Now that the side of the building is all graded, it really makes the woods seem closer - there aren't any more big dirt piles in between!
