Jim continued to do some plastering in the stairwell this morning...

Then he transitioned to driveway work in the afternoon.  Since we got the left side (in the picture below) at the right elevation, it made it a bit easier to do the opposite side.  Jim wants an inch slope on the driveway so that the water will roll off the side.  He made a 3" block of wood to use on the left side and then used the level to figure out the height of the right side.  We continued to do that down the entire area - once it was level, Jim attached the stake to the form.

Never discount the power of Jim's laser eyeballs though!

Then he used his 4" concrete depth block to see which areas were high and marked those with paint...

Before he could start grading, we had to empty the bucket of the rocks, so we got them all put on the rock wall...

I moved my car out of the garage and located it on the upper driveway until the concrete work is finished.  Then Jim was able to remove the ramped up gravel and use it to fill it the side where it was low...

Continuing to work his way down the driveway...

Lots of shoveling later, the driveway is in good shape!  Still work to be done to shore up the sides of the forms but this is a great start.  Jim is watching the weather forecast and we are hoping that Thursday will work out.
