I had to leave kind of early this morning for a checkup with the ophthalmologist - everything was good so glad to have that done for the year. Being very mindful of my keys, afterwards I did the grocery shopping that I didn't do on Tuesday!
Jim had been so busy while I was gone - he got all the joints taped in the stairwell and did the first big coat on all the J-channel...
The lower stairwell looks so different with drywall and getting plaster on the walls makes it look even better!
He worked on the header as well...
In the afternoon, it was a transition to driveway work, starting to build the forms on the other side...
Once the forms were in place, time to bring out the laser level...
We marked off every 7-1/2 feet along the side of the driveway and then Jim figured out the drop between the beginning and the end of the entire section - it ended up being 21". To make the slope consistent, Jim measured for a 3" drop at each of our markings.
It was very amazing - Jim cut this driveway just by eye years ago. It was pretty perfect - less than an inch had to be crumbed out in a few places...
At each marking, once Jim was happy with the level, he screwed a stake into the back of the form. So this side is basically done - tomorrow will be the other side!
We knocked off just a tad early at the end of the day and got the Mini out for a ride to look at the leaves along the Hudson River, two different directions. Fall is so beautiful here!
