Hope everyone had a safe and happy Independence Day!
Jim started the morning in the auto bay attic - the mice had chewed through some cardboard boxes so it was a good time to do some organization and put things in plastic tubs, even though hopefully we won't see any more mice.
Once he got out of the attic, he sanded the next shelf for my glassware cabinet...
A coat of polyurethane...
In the afternoon, we first did some clean up of the area in front of the auto bay doors. We moved the pallet and sawhorses we had used to store our old plywood while we epoxied the pole barn floor and then moved this big I-beam up to the top of the hill also.
What a gorgeous day and amazing view from the top of the hill! This is the view we would see from the house if we decide to embark on that adventure in the future!
Our project this afternoon was to start building up the side of the auto bay. Jim went down to our dirt pile and scooped a bucketful...
Then we filled up the wheelbarrow...
And Jim dumped it along the side...
A good first load!
Starting the second load...
Dumping...
We ended up bringing three bucketsful of dirt and getting it back here. It's looking great!
We also wanted to do some rock work around our drainage pipes. The upper drain is for the discharge of the water softener. You can see that it has eroded the dirt there. So let's build it up with rocks!
All done - looks good and it will protect the ground from erosion.
He had to go get some more diesel fuel for the Bobcat at the end of the day - then it was a well-deserved shower before we watch Mass!
