11.12.2018 - First barn siding!

I had to go pick up some screws for Jim at the roofing company this morning and do a couple errands.  By the time I got back, Jim was busy working on the siding.  He had taken off the bottom edge piece to do a little tweaking and then got it put back in place.

You can see how nice the corner is...

Then it was time to place the first piece of siding!  Jim wanted to make sure that all the screws line up so he's striking a chalk line...

First screw to fasten it down!

All the full pieces on this section are done!  Jim isn't putting all the screws in right now so that he can press on and take advantage of the dry day.

Jim had to make and attach blocking between each of the girts to make a nice solid corner - he got this done on the back corner too.

Then an interruption...Jim had called this morning for gravel.  He was hoping to get two truckloads but they called later and said they would only be able to do one today.  Jim had him start at the bottom of the driveway - he really cruised up the hill dropping gravel!

Looks good!  Jim is shooting for possibly Wednesday if the weather allows for the next load to go up close to the pole barn and to be used for the layer of gravel on top of the dirt inside.

First piece of gable fascia on...

Jim figured out how he wanted to wrap the end of the fascia around to the front to get a nice seal when the front piece goes on...

The other side piece is up now...
