We honor all veterans today - especially those near and dear to my heart...Jim (Air Force), my dad (Air Force), and Jim's dad (Merchant Marines).
This morning, Jim worked on hanging my laundry room pictures up. This was kind of a complicated arrangement - 6 pictures, 3 different sizes, plus the sloped ceiling had to be factored into the placement. So I first made templates out of paper to figure out where I wanted them to go and taped them on the wall. Jim was able to figure out nail placement that way as well.
It was another cold day but Jim was anxious to get outside and get some organization done with the siding. There are 3 different sizes so Jim took them apart and we separated them into piles. You have to be careful about the way you carry them as well as making sure you don't scratch them. Here's the pile of medium sized pieces that will go on the front and back sides.
Jim had to decide how he wanted to proceed with installation. He first thought he'd use wood ledger blocks at the right height and he could just set the siding on top of that. But he decided to first put the bottom trim piece up...
Then the got the rest tacked into place...
A good start! All of the siding pieces were wet and cold from the snow, so when you move them your gloves and then your hands instantly get cold and wet. It was another chilly and windy day for working. An early end to the day - off to church.

All done - the colors and designs look great in here!
