I had to run into Saratoga today to pick up a cable splitter from Time Warner as well as do some grocery shopping errands. I stopped by the carriage house on my way home to check out all the progress!
Jim had put up the switch box when you walk into the second bedroom - this necessitated putting up another stud so that the box was in the right spot.
This is the light box for the light in that room...
And this is so exciting...a kitchen wall is started!! This is the wall that will be the back of the banquette seating area as well as be cabinets in the kitchen.
After I left, Jim made the wall a reality...put up blocking so that he could attach the end of the wall, and put up and fastened all the studs.
Then he did some finishing work - finished the corners so that they are ready for drywall.
Then he worked on the other corner pieces...
He then moved to work in the master bedroom closet. He cut the wall plate and track and then cut the studs that will make up the knee wall here. He will bring the glue out with him tomorrow and start putting this wall permanently in place.
High 26/Low 14 - windy and blustery day! |
