3.15.2016

Before he headed out to the property, Jim finalized the purchase of our strand bamboo flooring from Lumber Liquidators. I'm really excited that we found what we wanted at a good price and it will be a good product for the carriage house. It's so strong and thick enough that Jim won't have to put another layer of subfloor down.

Jim worked today on building this shoulder that extends the roof around the front of the gable dormer. I certainly don't have Jim's brain or vision so I'll have to see it go up eventually to understand it all!

He's also continuing to make good progress on the grading...

Jim got to the roofing company a little before they closed at 4:00 because the employee said his flashing would be in today. But it wasn't. Thankfully the Fed Ex truck pulled up right at 4:00.

After that, Jim headed to Lowe's to pick up some lumber. He plans to use wood as a sill underneath the wall studs in the apartment so he's planning ahead for that.

Then it was back to Angel to drop everything off. Once he was there, he decided to start making some of the drip edge for the stairwell roof and got most of it done!

  1. Hope you're doing well! I'm just catching up on your blog and the progress on your home! It looks awesome!! We just had a leak and some water damage in our house. We also decided to go with strand woven bamboo for it's durability. I can't wait to see how it looks.
