2.22.2020

Today was the day to bring up the next drawer cabinet!  That first required unfastening the existing drawer cabinet and moving it out of the way as well as moving the stove.

In the shop, Jim got holes predrilled and added a handle on the top of the cabinet so that it would be easier for me to help him carry it up the stairs (best husband ever!).

Thanks to that handle, we were able to move it up into the kitchen with no issues.  Jim then took the handle off...

And moved it into place...

Look how pretty!

It was an absolute perfect fit both to the other cabinet as well as to the space.  So Jim fastened the two cabinets together...

Then fastened both of them to the wall, thanks to all our blocking behind the walls.

To make fitting the drawers in easier, Jim moved the refrigerator out of the way...

Then put all the drawers in...

Last one...

So perfect!

While we had the refrigerator out, it was a good time to dust the back...

Jim put the new back filler piece on the stove and then put it back into place...

Then I spent time bringing things up from the shelves in the shop and filling up the drawers!  It will be constant rearranging as I continue to get more cabinets but it will be so nice to have more things accessible now!  Plus, the kitchen looks beautiful!

Jim used the table saw to cut the piece of Corian to the right width...

Cutting the strips to build up the edge...

Jim used a few minutes at the end of the day to investigate filling in the holes between floors where the plumbing goes through to the registers.  He didn't like his first attempt so stay tuned!

Off to church!
