10.14.2019

Lots of loose ends and project management tasks to attend to today.  Jim had to unload the plywood that we picked up from Lowe's today and get it stacked in the wood shop underneath the workbench.

I contacted Pella about the rain strip not fitting correctly; these things are never quick and straightforward.  We ended up having to talk to the service department, take pictures of the two different strips, and send them off.  We'll see if they are able to resolve anything.

Jim has also been working the epoxy decision for the auto bay floor.  He had some product technical questions to ask so he was on the phone about that for awhile.  We are going to make our color decision tonight and get it ordered.  He also spent time down in the auto bay clearing out a few more things.

Jim also continued working on the framing for the dormer area.  We also had to decide on how to finish the area underneath the window.  We've discovered that we really like just getting close into this window and looking out at the property - it's a great view.  So we decided not to make a bigger windowsill like we were first thinking.

Jim had to charge up the battery in the excavator and then he moved it down next to the pole barn.  He also went and picked up two containers of diesel fuel to top off all the tanks before freezing weather hits.

He then got the Bobcat out and loaded up the log splitter...

And moved it up near our stash of logs...

While he was up on top of the hill getting some wood blocks to put underneath the splitter, he did some cleaning up of that area, including getting the trimmer out and cutting down some growth around our piles of brick and miscellaneous building supplies.
