He also continued to do the steel framing on the dormer...
We had been waiting for the seals for the cantilever windows for weeks. Jim finally called Pella and they said they had shipped them out - but to our old address. Jim went over to the apartment and amazingly they were in the lobby! He started to investigate putting them on but the wasps were terrible, so he'll try either in the morning or evening hours.
Jim wanted to finish up the hand painting around the man door so he did that this afternoon...
All done!
Another pre-winter item is getting this door all weather proof. So Jim worked on attaching the sill which required drilling into the concrete...
Looks great!
The tree butcher sounded like he was so close today so Jim wandered back over there this afternoon and was able to talk to him again. It was more bad news - he's basically finished going down one side of the area and is going to start coming up the other side, which will be basically fairly close to our property line. He also said that one of the neighbors wants to build a house back there, but the tree guy said he was all talk and the money that he would get from the timbering wouldn't even put a driveway back there. I'm still wondering how they can put another house on a lot that already has a house - I may make a trip to the city offices next week to ask a few questions. While we won't be able to see anything that they may build, it was terrible this afternoon because we could literally see trees falling from our house. So a little depressing this afternoon!
