After we got home and had breakfast, Jim went to Tubbs, the little auto shop here, to see if they could put new valve stems on the lawn mower's tires. He pulled in, they did it for next to nothing, and he was on his way. Best place ever. Good thing because things are slowly starting to show signs of spring growth which means lawn mowing will soon be added to Jim's to do list.
After that, it was back to plumbing. Jim glued a little more on the stack and then ran into some issues with the run going from the toilet to the stack. Once Jim glues pieces, things fit a bit differently than when you are just trying things out - so when he first tried the run, it ran into the truss piece. He must have tried 6 different configurations...
Adding different sizes/pieces...
He finally came up with this configuration that will work. You can see he made a new bracket and attached it to the ceiling to help hold things in place while he was experimenting.
That issue hopefully figured out, Jim went back to gluing other sections...
Gluing the start of the toilet drain...
More brackets attached... Jim had ordered more angle to make brackets but when he called to check on the order today, Mike had forgotten. Oops. He said he had a truck coming soon so it shouldn't be too long of a wait.
Jim got the sink drain all glued. You can see he made a piece of steel to hold up the first bend. He'll do that on the other side too and attach the pipe so that everything stays in place.
After that, it was back to insulation in the ceiling of the master bedroom.
Jim even cuts little pieces of insulation and fills in the top of the bracing!
Gluing the sides to the bracing...
You know you're making progress when it's time to bring up more insulation!
Cutting the next piece...
Jim also trimmed the edges of the insulation along the side and taped those edges...
Look how nice and neat everything is!
The high parts require two ladders and the door frame!
The ceiling is basically all done! Jim is leaving the section around the fan box until last. And you can see that the little spot over the secret passageway doesn't have the kraft paper. It was a difficult shape to do because it goes around the corner of the wall. In fact, Jim had to put the insulation in from up in the attic. He'll put plastic over this area later.
Then the first pieces of insulation in the living room!
