Bringing up the couch |
Lots of maneuvering to make it through the doorway!
We are so relieved that all of our furniture is now in the apartment. Not sure what we are going to do with it all but it's here and we have plenty of time to rearrange. Actually the couch fit in the area we had hoped it would so the living room will be packed but cozy!
After everything was unloaded that went into the apartment, Jim and Bryan were off to the barn to drop things off there and rearrange to make things fit into the areas that we get to have for the winter. Meanwhile, I stayed at the apartment and unpacked. Now that I had our dining room furniture, I was able to unload my dishes into the hutch. Gone are the pretty dishes mostly for show, the hutch has to earn its keep and hold all my everyday dishes to free up room in the cabinets. I had bought a cheap set of Corelle dishes when we thought Jim might be staying by himself at the apartment while I sold the house, but I just can't bring myself to use them, even though it would be simpler and easier. They just don't feel like home and right now, I need to feel home. So out with all the Pfaltzgraff.
Once the guys got back, it was late and we were all hungry. We loaded into the car and set off to show Bryan downtown Saratoga Springs. Our insurance agent told us his brothers owned the Saratoga City Tavern. The website looked interesting so that was our plan. We went in and walked around - there is a rooftop bar and the view of the downtown area was really cool. But it was kind of a young crowd and noisy so we set off looking for something else. We ended up at Dango's where we all got good burgers (mine veggie). Unfortunately, the gelato place had just closed so we ended up back at McDonald's for an ice cream cone to top off the night.
