Too many goodbyes!

The Marriott was such a wonderful place to stay - we had a restful night.  Good thing because the morning brought more driving.  After parking the truck at the neighbor's again for safekeeping, we headed south to go see my mom.  We felt horrible that we couldn't be with her on her big birthday but as always, she is so understanding and supportive.  We wanted to take her out to lunch, but she wouldn't hear of it and made a wonderful lunch there so we could all just relax and enjoy our time together.  And that we did...but we had to be back on the road north too early.  I was so sad leaving - although I know that we will make visits happen, it just feels so far away and it was hard to go.  Just way too many goodbyes - and this one the worst!

We had decided to go to Bag's for dinner so the GPS took us a different route.  Unfortunately, that route had a road construction detour - we lost almost an hour.  But we saw some gorgeous countryside - including this beautiful phenomena that happened as the sun was setting.  All of the clouds at the horizon turned a gorgeous shade of bright pink.  Pictures never do things justice - it was so beautiful!

Pink skies at night?

We got to Bag's and had to wait for awhile for a table - busy Friday night in Millersburg!  We stopped a couple on the street and asked them to take our picture.  This was coming full circle for us.  Bag's is where Jim brought up moving years ago - and I sat in one of the booths and cried about the thought of leaving our home.  And that was just talk of moving an hour south!  So we thought it was fitting that we close out this chapter of our lives where it started.  And the chicken nachos on Bag's chips are the best too!

We had to cut short out reminiscing and move to our third night's accommodations - staying with Bryan's mom.  She was very gracious to let us stay with her so that we can pick up Bryan across the street in the morning for the trip back to NY.  Thanks, Mrs. G, for being such a wonderful hostess!
