Jim took the remaining rafters out today to store them in the pavilion...
Time for a new job, which means a complete different set of tools and equipment. Jim got everything read and we headed outside after lunch. First step was to replace the front plate with just the side pieces, leaving the middle for where the garage door will be. Cutting to size...
Fastening them in place...
The next step is to make another bottom plate all the way around. He needs white wood to attach the walls instead of treated wood. Cutting the first side...
He's using these really hefty deck screws to go through all the layers to keep everything firmly attached...
Now it's wall time! Jim held the upper and lower track pieces together with a clamp so he could mark both pieces at the same time...
Jim thinks of everything - he attached this piece of wood that I walked back as he stood up the wall so it would be braced...
Wall is up! We'll work on it tomorrow, but dark comes quickly now and we had to stop to get everything put away. Great start!
