11.8.2024

Jim had some computer work and phone calls to make this morning, including ordering new lift cylinders for the Bobcat!  We've been talking about replacing his for a long time, so he finally went ahead and ordered.  Then he got his tools and equipment ready and out to the shed area mid-morning.  Putting up the end stud on the back wall...

Fastening it in place...

He predrilled the holes for fastening the bottom track to the wood plate...

Then put in the special metal to wood pan head screws...

Putting the top and bottom tracks pieces together so we could mark stud location...

Jim used his new metal shears to cut the sides of the ends of the track...

Using his regular shears to finish the cuts...

He designed it so that the now flat area will slide underneath the end track to tie both sides together...

Time to start building the wall...

Attaching the studs...

Attaching a brace for stability...

Then he attached the wood brace that I walked out as Jim set the wall up...

Wall up and the ends mate perfectly!

It's the same situation on top - the now flat part goes over the top of the back wall...

Attaching the studs on the other side...

We had a little rain delay - a brief shower came through and we had to grab all the tools and take them undercover in the pavilion.  But once it stopped, we were back out.  Here Jim is measuring to make sure everything is level...

Adding more studs...

Jim did the pre-drilling and attached the wall through the bottom plates...

End-of-the-day picture - the shed is definitely taking shape!

High 54/Low 36.1 - brisk and windy!
