Jim set up his new saw to cut the steel track for the front sections - it worked really well...
Pieces in place...
Putting the top track on the front is a bit challenging because the track pieces are somewhat flexible and could easily twist. So Jim decided to put the top plate on first and set them both in place together. Cutting the wood to size in the pavilion...
Then starting to lift it into place...
Another challenge is to get the two steel track pieces to mate together with the flat piece on the sides...
Fastening in place...
Steel studs in place - Jim was showing me that next will be wood pieces, so that he can use the wood to attach the header and eventually the garage door.
At this point, Jim went back and put in all the screws on the left side wall, so it's all finished.
Jim had bought the exact number of studs, so now we needed to use the ones that Jim has in place for bracing. Putting up another wood brace in the back...
Right before it got dark, it started to sprinkle so we had to clean up quickly and get tools under cover. End-of-the-day picture...
You can kind of see the haze in the air in the pictures above, but we had a rare air quality alert effective today. Apparently there are wildfires in New Jersey and southern NY that are causing issues. You could definitely smell smoke in the air.
