Jim's new cylinders for the Bobcat came today. The UPS man joked and told Jim that his cinderblocks came - these are heavy! He ordered a Bobcat service manual that came today (and is over 2" thick!) so he'll be ready when he can start this project.
Jim went into the attic of the pole barn and brought down an extra steel stud he had...
He set up his saw to cut the pieces he will need for over the garage door header...
He cut one piece and took it up to make sure it fit...
Then cut 7 more...
Placing the studs...
Fastening them into place...
Placing the other top plate on the side...
He fastened both sides down on the ends and in the middle to hold them in place...
Next job was to attach screws from the track up through the wood plate - not an easy job, especially in these little cavities...
He put two screws in each cavity, just as he did on the for the studs through the bottom plates. He first had to pre-drill and then put the screws in...
Working on the side. Before he came in, he got both the front and the right side all done.
Thanks to everyone for the good happy birthday wishes! It was a lovely day - we went to The Local and then came home for cake and ice cream. We have much to be thankful for this year!
