It was a gorgeous day so Jim wanted to tackle some nice weather jobs. Jim got my mom's chair out for me and I sat and watched him work!
No guarantee we're done with the snow blower (we thought that last week!), but Jim decided to take it off the Bobcat. First a good cleaning...
Once he got the attachment put away, time to put the battery in the chipper. It started right up after all winter. Which is good, because someone is coming Monday to hopefully buy it! We want to get a Bobcat chipper attachment if we can sell this. In preparation, Jim took the small chainsaw up to the top of the hill and cut down a few of the ugly striped maples. He'll use those to demonstrate the chipper.
It might have gotten into the low 70s today, but we still have snow behind the house!
Checking the propane level - after all winter, we're still at 40%!
The snow on Thursday was so wet and heavy that it did some damage to the trees, especially our transplanted oak...
But we figured if they can graft branches onto trees, maybe we could tape it and get it to continue growing since there was probably half still attached. Jim put the bucket on the Bobcat, but then had to take the door off since you can't have the door on and get out if the bucket is raised.
Using our magical Tyvec tape...
He even put a little splint on to hopefully keep it stable...
