Jim worked on making a test piece for the dovetailing - planing a piece the same thickness as the drawer pieces...

His test pieces came out picture perfect...

Then it was time for the real thing - the sides and back pieces are all dovetailed!  While the large bench seat drawer is the longest drawer Jim had even built, this first drawer is the deepest one...

He then had to reset the dovetail machine to make the blind dovetail joints needed for the fronts.  The drawer on the left is the "before" and the one on the right is "after."

Fronts all dovetailed...

We then headed into Saratoga to do pickups at Staples, Target and BJs before heading to The Local for a burger and beer date night!   A perfect evening.
