3.15.2022

We try to do our best to keep things out of landfills and are as diligent as possible at reusing and recycling.  Probably for the last year, we have been collecting used coffee grounds, which Jim then puts out in the woods.  Our soil is such that we don't need to use it to break it down, as you would with Ohio clay soil, and we don't have a garden, but it's better than the landfill.  However, winter months make traipsing into the woods to dump it harder so Jim has been collecting what I give him into a 5-gallon pail.  Now that there are two coffee drinkers in the house, it accumulates fast!

Jim sanded the other moveable shelf today...

Cutting Formica to use for the shelves...

Jim also continues to do work on the medicine cabinet...

A coat of polyurethane on the shelves...

A coat of polyurethane on the underside of the desk top as well as the panels...

Jim used his metal bandsaw to do the millwork on the desk legs...

He's making a groove that he'll use to fit the back and side panels in for a tight fit...

They legs look so cool!  Jim was working on the last one when I took this picture, but all the millwork is now done.
