11.16.2019

We started the day with some good news - the envelope printer sale went through!  Of course, that required a trip to the UPS Store to have them package and ship it off.  It's a big, somewhat fragile printer and we didn't want the responsibility.  But it's always good that someone else can use something that you no longer have a need for - and get paid too!

Jim worked on the Corian banquette table top this morning - so exciting!  He took all the clamps off and then started cleaning up all the edges.  This had to be done in sections - he did the first section working with the finished side up...

Beautiful!

We wanted a 45 degree cut on the outside edges of the table - first, it looks so good but it also helps prevent bumping into sharp corners!  Jim marked the lines and then used the saw to cut...

First cut made...

Doing the other side...

Looks so good!

Next, Jim had to flip the table and straighten the last of the edges...

Now it's time for the special router bits to make the decorative edge!  He starts with the first bit - this has to be done in very small increments all the way around the table...

First pass done...

It took 5 passes around the table with the first bit to get it to the correct dimension.  You can imagine how nerve wracking this is - good thing Jim has steady hands!

Before he had to break to get ready for church, he was able to get the next bit set up and did the first pass with it - starting to see the shape now!
