After getting home last evening and seeing all of the damage from the storm, we were surprised that we didn't lose power. But we did later in the evening, and were without it for about 6 hours. Again, grateful for the generator! Plus, there were so many deaths from this storm that we feel completely blessed!
This morning, the hail was still around...
The grass had this thick coating of pine tree debris...
You can see it's thick all over the grass...
The leaves coating everything is still amazing - we have never seen anything like it. It's like fall with new leaves. I went out to see my mom and the damage was very localized right around us, as were the power outages, so it must have been a microburst.
We walked up to make sure the structures were standing and the steel roof of the pavilion wasn't damaged from the storm. Everything was fine - just covered in a blanket of leaves.
We did lose one tree, but it was a dead one that we needed to get out of there anyway, so it was actually a good thing. We'll have to take care of this though...
The upper driveway is all back in good shape...
Lower driveway is fixed too, but we had to do some hand shoveling to get the gravel back on the driveway where it belongs...
With a little time left at the end of the day and in between raindrops, Jim cut and started to fit the other front sheathing piece...
Attaching...
Jim also got our leftover roof shingles and roof jacks ready for our next job!
