Time for shingling the roof!   But lots of prep work first, including cutting off the excess underlayment...

Getting ready to put on the first piece of drip edge...

Tacking it in place...

Measuring the side...

Then a little housekeeping from our crazy storm on Saturday - sweeping the roof...

Jim got double-sided tape that goes on top of the underlayment and underneath the drip edge on the side, as another barrier for water.  Putting it in place...

It was a little challenging to get the drip edge perfectly aligned while the tape was in place, but Jim got it done!

Moving to the back side, Jim cut the underlayment...

Putting on the tape...

And then the drip edge...

Fastening the drip edge...

Time to get rid of the first toe board!

We went down to the shop and Jim brought out our big shear so that he can cut the shingles...

Jim was so smart and saved cut-offs from our previous roofing jobs.  Since these shingles are expensive, it sure helps.  He used them for the first starter row...

Plus we have a few bundles of full shingles left over.  First shingle up!

Starting to build up...

Jim using his trick to "distress" the sides of cut pieces...

Putting it into place...

Continuing along...

Another angle - these shingles just look so good.

End-of-the-day picture - first roof jack up!
