4.24.2025

Jim was back at work on the shed today - he got all the tools and equipment out and finished putting the nails in the piece he put up at the end of the day yesterday.  Then he marked the cut for the next piece...

Cutting it to size...

Putting the piece into place on the roof...

Starting to fasten...

Fastening at the edges...

The weather started getting dark and our apps said we were might get some rain, so we got a tarp out to protect the tools just in case...

Jim wanted to switch to working on the other side of the roof, so he brought over more platforms and got things ready...

Bringing up another piece of sheathing...

For this piece, Jim is cutting off the groove to ensure he has enough tongue pieces...

All marked and ready to go...

Jim put up his cleats to hold the sheathing in place...

Jim wasn't sure how this was going to work to get the sheathing up on this side.  There is a big incline for the Bobcat and not good access to the scaffolding.  But ht was able to get it close...

Then he got it off the forks...

And onto the scaffolding...

He stood it up...

And slid it onto the roof...

And pushed it into place...

Success!  Starting to fasten...

Nailing...

We worked through some light drizzles and thought maybe we could do one more, so down to the pavilion to load up another piece.  Jim cut it while it was on the forks...

Then he repeated the procedure to get it up in place...

Dragging it off the forks...

Flipping it up...

And onto the roof...

Then he slid it down into place...

He put enough screws to hold it in place.  Another great day of progress!
