4.17.2025

It was a colder day yesterday and very windy; Jim did inside work including cleaning up from the car job and starting to wax the 4Runner.  I was gone a lot of the day, between picking up printing, going to the store, and visiting my mom.

Jim also has been finalizing his quote request for the siding and roofing for the shed.  This morning, he went through the pole barn, doublechecking how many bundles of roofing he has left that we can use.

Today was a bit warmer and Jim loaded up tools for the next shed job in the bucket, including the air compressor and generator...

First job was to cut off the tail of the ridge board with the cool Japanese knife...

Then he used the nail gun to finish attaching the bottom blocking board...

He switched to the forks and brought up some sheathing...

Dragging a piece of sheathing off...

Getting it up and ready to be placed...

He had put some wood guide pieces to hold the sheathing in place...

Setting it perfectly in place and it stayed there with his guides...

Chalking lines for nails and cutting...

Attaching...

Cutting off the excess...

Cutting sheathing for the next sections...

Putting the corner piece up...

Cutting the other side...

Putting it up in place...

When pieces of sheathing are smaller, Jim likes to put cleats up on the back side, connecting the two pieces to make them act as one...

Putting in the bottom screws...

Putting a cleat on the other side...

Then putting the sheathing into place...

Fastening with bottom screws...

Chalk marking...

Using the nail gun to fasten it into place...

Fastening the other side...

End-of-the-day picture - a good start!
