Jim worked in the moulding factory this morning - preparing boards to glue. These are for the baseboard piece...
Gluing...
He then headed to the metal shop to see if he could break the seal on the Tiger Cub wheel to get the broken valve stem off...
Took some work but he did it...
The valve stem just deteriorated - hard to believe the Tiger Cub is 20 years old! Plus, it's kind of had a rough life here. Our yard is looking great now but it didn't start out that way and there are still plenty of rocks and obstacles.
At this point, Jim headed to Saratoga to drop off the window glass to get that ordered. It takes a couple weeks to come in so he wanted to get it started. He came home after that, ate lunch, and then headed out for his afternoon errands. He stopped and bought some new valve stems and then went to Bobcat to talk to them about rebuilding the excavator where the bucket attaches. The previous owners had used the wrong size pins and hadn't greased it. Jim bought new bearings and some other parts he'll need to work on that.
Once he was home, he put the new valve stem on the wheel and was able to get the tire resealed...Tiger Cub has its wheel back on and Jim did some greasing while he was at it.
High 74/Low 53 - gorgeous! |
