After lunch, he started a new project - continuing to replace the lights in the 4Runner with LEDs. Here's the selection of new LEDs - all different sizes and colors...
Of course, this means tearing the dash all apart...
Including taking the steering wheel off. This requires a special tool because it's pressed on, but Jim got it off. He actually has a replacement he bought years ago that is in better shape than his, so he's going to replace that as well.
This is behind the dashboard display with all the different light circuits...
The old lights were basically just clear with the various color painted on top...
Starting to replace lights...
He has the breakout on his iPad to make sure everything is correct...
Wow - check out the new main blue color! Some of the bottom lights aren't working so he has more investigating to do...
He also replaced the dome light - compare the brightness with the one in the back...
