7.9.2015

Our garage doors were delivered today!  We got the doors all covered later on to protect them from the elements and moved the boxes of hardware and springs into the truck.

Jim worked on the door frame today.  Here he's putting together the header.

And getting it all attached.

Then putting the two side frame pieces together.  (Guess there's no question who this piece of steel belongs to!)

Then working on the rest of the frame.

At this point in the afternoon, it started drizzling on and off.  Jim tried working for awhile but eventually gave in.  It's getting kind of frustrating - there's so much to do and the weather has not always cooperated lately.  I ended up going home to work on my fire school work and Jim worked in the ground floor.  He got the fourth tower totally taken down and all of the cement blocks moved out.

He also used the time for thinking...and decided that he wants to order a taller double door for the entrance he is working on.  So he'll have to do a little redo work tomorrow but he'll be happier in the long run so that's okay.

  1. Building your own home comes with many challenges. Building a garage is no small feat, but if you do it yourself, you can customize it to suit your specific needs. It's better than being stuck with one that you'll have to modify one day. Just keep the glorious goal in mind-remember why you're doing it all and you'll pull through.
