Jim continued work on the stair railing parts today. Here he's drilling a hole through one of the steel discs...
The steel for the handrail is on order but Jim had some heavier gauge that he is using to get heights right. This upper section is all figured out now - going to look good!
He got the downstairs railing brackets all finished and attached...
This is a little hard to see - Jim is starting the design process for the spindles so he made and attached a piece of flat bar to the insides of these newel posts. Again, this will enable everything to be very strong yet able to be taken apart.
I went back to Home Depot today for more paint - we have decided to get just flat paint for the hallway and the living room. The matte was still just a bit too shiny for us in certain areas. At the end of the day, Jim got the hallway trim work all done with the new paint.
