He had gone one day last week and the ground was so frozen that he couldn't get the excavator bucket to even break through the dirt - it wanted to pull the excavator into the hole! So definitely had to stop trying then.
But today, he was able to work a little. This picture shows how the first 8" or so is totally frozen - it lifted up like a piece of concrete! But once that was off, he was able to dig some. Every little bit will help!
