Jim and I are big believers that there are no coincidences in life - today was a day where we really felt some of that divine intervention!  Read on...

Jim worked this morning in the wood shop - planing shelf pieces for the bathroom cabinet...

He also planed and cut some baseboard moulding pieces...

So...first divine intervention...Jim had finished lunch and had brought his dishes into the kitchen.  All of a sudden, we hear him talking loudly in the kitchen and went out to see what was happening.  At just the brief moment that Jim was looking out the window, the propane gas truck driver was walking up the driveway!  He had apparently tried a few times and couldn't back up the driveway so he walked up to scope out the situation.  Jim went out and told him to try driving up - he did that and pulled in the turn around.  But then he couldn't gain traction to back up the upper driveway.  At this point, Jim told him to drive back down the driveway and then just pull in all the way up the second driveway.

Which he did with no problem.  He filled it up to 90%, which you can do in the winter, so we got almost 180 gallons of propane.  We'll be set all winter now!  After he filled up the tank, Jim directed him to back down the upper driveway into the turnaround and then he was able to drive out.  Whew!  But what are the chances that Jim would be looking out the window at that precise moment?

Jim putting the press back to it's original condition - he's advertising it for sale.  We're grateful that Jim was able to modify it to get it to do the car work!

The car is now officially buttoned up and off the lift!  Unfortunately, Jim can't get it inspected until next Tuesday but that's okay.  After all this work, it took him about 3 hours to get all the tools put away and everything cleaned up!

At this point, Mom and I headed to the post office to drop off a fire school mailing I did today.  We stopped at the little grocery store in town for a couple things.  When we were checking out, I realized I didn't have my car keys.  So, of course, instant panic.  I immediately called Jim because he had planned to use the 4Runner to take the trash down and then get some kerosene and check out the car.  He was still home and was ready to come and rescue us with the extra key.  However, after retracing our steps to the car and through the store, I asked the manager if anyone had turned them in - and someone had!  I still have no idea how that happened but am grateful to that person!  But think about it - the 4Runner has been out of commission for a bit - what are the chances that the afternoon I almost needed Jim to come and rescue me is the same afternoon that the car was available and Jim was still home?  Divine intervention!

So with grateful hearts, we are home, happy, safe and sound, with a full gas tank.
