It was an on/off drizzly kind of day, so Jim did some computer work this morning and then planned on inside work.
He is going to upgrade some parts on the furnace system this fall. One of the check valves is leaking - not where Jim soldered it, but from the valve itself. A new pump is on order that has a check valve in it, so he'll be replacing that soon.
He's got a couple projects in the pipeline - he wants to make a "cage" around the air conditioner compressor so that heavy snow falling from the roof doesn't crush it. An updated mail drop box is in the works as well. Both projects require steel, so Jim was doing an inventory of what steel he has and what he'll need to order...
He went up the hill to get some rebar - here he's cutting it to the size he needs...
Then he used our rebar bender to put a curve in it and then used the torch to tweak it...
Both sides needed to be the same - mission accomplished! He has a few more to make.
Jim had some time at the end of the day and since he had his torch out, he was cleaning up some copper plumbing pieces from his dad's house. Some can be reused, some recycled.
