Happy Veteran's Day - thanks to all of those who serve all of us! Especially in my heart are Jim (Air Force), my Dad (Air Force), and Jim's Dad (Merchant Marines). 💚
Jim brought in the wood that he got at the lumberyard yesterday...
He did some planing and then got ready to glue some pieces together for pantry shelves...
Clamping the wood together to dry...
Two boards in the gluing process...
In the afternoon, we went back to building up the ground next to the driveway. Jim brought down more dirt...
Lots of hand grading and picking out rocks...
Doing some back dragging with the bucket...
Next he brought down the excavator to do some rock duty...
We want to work on building up this retaining wall that will be next to the lean to. We have some rocks down but Jim needs more big ones at the base.
Luckily, rocks aren't a problem here! Jim brought a bucketful of rocks down and used the excavator to pick them out and place them...
Although working on a slope caused some issues (a couple round rocks rolled down the hill!) and sometimes manual work is the only way...
He ended up bringing another load of rocks and placing them so more pictures to come!
I'll end the blog with the eternal question - Just why DID the chicken cross the road?
This one wasn't sure either so turned around and headed back to the other side!
