Happy St. Patrick's Day!  Even though we aren't Irish, we've always had fun celebrating the day.  We started with green pancakes this morning, and corned beef and cabbage are in the crockpot along with pistachio cake for dessert later on.

Jim continued to work on the cabinet drawer pieces today, doing some planing...

These fronts and some sides are all ready for millwork...

Lots of pieces gluing...

3.16.2024

Thanks to all of you who checked in with us recently since posts haven't been real prompt.  It's always humbling to know that people are reading, and especially that people take the time to check in!

I've had a health issue come up, and things are moving very quickly.  I was found to have a large pelvic mass that has to be surgically removed and biopsied.  There have been lots of appointments and things to figure out in a short period of time, but we feel confident that we are in good hands with the doctor, hospital, and staff.  Jim has been my rock, and as much as I hate that this is putting a bit of a pause on our plans, it's all part of our life's journey.  I'm just grateful to have such an amazing life partner!  Thanks also to an amazing network of family and friends sending love and prayers.  Again, I feel very blessed.

Onto a different subject,  Jim finally got some shop time today to continue making cabinet drawer parts and pieces.  Doing some sizing...

Some planing...

And lots of gluing!

3.10.2024

Not a fan of Daylight Saving Time in this household!  We try to split the difference on this day to help ease the transition, but it sure would be nice if we could end this practice!

We might be looking towards spring on the clocks, but we woke up winter again on Angel!  Actually, we got about 1" last night but then it turned to rain and disappeared.  But there was another 3" or so on the ground this morning - so pretty!

Jim was back in the shop today, continuing to work on cabinet pieces.  Using the jointer...

And the planer...

Showing Mom how the side pieces will go together...

Starting to glue pieces for drawer parts...

Jim works on repairing his nail gun in down time and he needed some boiling water to both get an old seal off and put the new one on...

It worked perfectly - he was able to get the new seal in place...

Jim's new, longer computer cable came today.  He had bought some wire loom to keep multiple cables together, so everything is all neat and orderly now...
